Peace requires learning, study, practice, and right effort.
We call upon the United Nations to establish an annual Global Peace Education Day: to recognize the necessity of peace education for lasting peace, strengthen education for peacebuilding, highlight successful initiatives, and encourage communication among peace educators and the communities they serve.
We must equip ourselves and our children to face conflict, violence, inequity, and climate crisis with the power of peace.
Peace is reverence for life.
Peace is humanity’s most precious possession.
Peace is more than the end of armed conflict.
Peace is a way of behaving.
Peace is rooted in liberty, justice, equality, and solidarity.
Peace includes harmony between humanity and the environment.
